Just some of the SEO tips we gleaned from Bains’ SEO in 2022 include:

  • Reviews of products and services are a good way to find out more about the business. Use them for on-page content on the website, ads, and social as well as brand direction.
  • Work on the intent of all core pages; they’re the ones that bring in the right audience. From there, you must engage with them by providing the information needed.
  • 70% of the content on the web in the last three years has been generated by AI, and this percentage will only increase in the future. Semantics are becoming even more important in content creation. You need to be giving a clear context using clear sentence structure and communicating the relationship between entities using attributes.
  • Content that doesn’t drive traffic is still useful as it helps Google to understand what you do. Informative pages like large FAQ sections may or may not drive traffic, but may act as supporting evidence for Google.
  • Client side rendering has two main downsides – first, it can increase the likelihood of a poor user experience because JavaScript can add seconds to the page speed, and second, it affects search engine bots. Be careful you don’t get a blank page.
  • If you have a set of major pages that are not ranking so well, it might be worth checking on the user experience on those pages.
  • On all pages, write a sentence under the H1 for the featured snippet answering the question about what the page is about. Ask yourself what is this page about and what do I want people to get from this page?
