The Dubai International Boat Show 2013 opened yesterday afternoon by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Companies launching boats include Al Shaali Marine, Art Marine, Chris Craft, Delma Marine, Du Boats, Fountaine Pajot, Gulf Craft, IMG Boats, Safwa Marine, Sanlorenzo, Riviera and Van Dutch with Yachting shipbuilders Heesen Yachts, Lurssen Yachts, Amels Yachts, Trinity Yachts, Westport Yachts also present. Among those taking centre stage this year is Gulf Craft, a leading UAE-based manufacturer, which announced the start of construction of a new Majesty 155 luxury superyacht – the largest ever to be constructed in the company’s 31-year history and is set to be completed in 2015.
The show started quickly in the desert heat and visitors from Dubai and international visitors arrived at the show at the earlier 14:00. The show featured the superyacht experience, Equipment supplies and services area – Relevance at ESS-227, a Luxury Supplies and Services Area, a Marina Display area, andthe supercar promenade. Networking led to an exhibitors party late into the night with an excellent hospitality vent and dancing. More than 780 exhibiting brands and companies are participating in the show with 126 new exhibitors at the show for the first time this year.
The show has seen strong international demand with more than 49 countries participating and debut appearances from Armenia, Belgium, Malaysia, Malta, Palau and the Russian Federation. The event has seen the United States and Italy increase their total exhibition space by 110% and 47% respectively, with Turkey increasing its floor space by eight times.
An impressive 430 boats will be on display throughout the event, featuring at least 19 luxurious superyachts.
